Tempera pigments particle size is larger than that in commercial gouache. It can, therefore, be sold in bottles.
I take commercial tempera samples, dilute with water, and grind with high fructose corn syrup (binder) and kaolin clay.
I pour the diluted pant samples in plastic bins and use a food dehydrator to concentrate to a gouache.
This approaches a commercial -level gouache for artistic use at fraction of the cost. Tryit!
