Inorganic Pigment/ Novel Paint Formulation

Copper (II) acetate monohydrate in mortar , ground with amino acid glycine for 10 minutes at 20 deg C.
Mix left at room temperature for 2 hrs. 1%, by mass, solid sodium hydroxide was also in the solid mixture which affords the ci isomer of bis-glycino copper (II) complex. A light blue pigment is afforded.

It is blended with an aq. solution of 'air-drying' clay. sold commercially by Crayola.
The paint formulation is applied to cardstock.
