In the beginning, the world was alive,

With spirit and soul and breath.

The trees and the mountains, the rivers and skies,

All had a consciousness of their own.

But then came man, with his logic and reason,

And he saw the world as a machine.

He saw the trees as inanimate objects,

And the mountains as nothing more than rock.

He saw the rivers as nothing more than water,

And the skies as nothing more than air.

He saw the world as a place of matter and motion,

And he forgot that it was also a place of spirit.

But now, in the 21st century,

We are beginning to remember.

We are beginning to see the world as a place of spirit,

As well as a place of matter.

We are beginning to see the trees as living beings,

With their own thoughts and feelings.

We are beginning to see the mountains as sacred places,

Where we can connect with the divine.

We are beginning to see the rivers as flowing with life,

And the skies as a vast ocean of spirit.

We are beginning to see the world as a place of wonder,

And we are beginning to remember that we are part of it.
