Developmental Acrylic Paint: Cryogeneic Polyvinyl Alcohol

Swatches with different brushes. A commercial blue acrylic paint blended with 'cryogenic' polyvinyl alcohol.

A 10% (m/v) solution of PVA is kept at -20 deg C (1.0 hr) followed by 1.0 hr at + 20 deg C. This is repeated  five (5) times to produce a cross-linked PVA clear gel.

Commerical gouache blended with our developmental emulsifying petrolatum ( from renewables) on feedstock.

After drying 3 hrs ( 20 deg C) ,  the swatch ( on cardstock) was immersed in water.
Even after 24 hrs of immersion , the pigment does not run. Impasto style was used and a few surface particles did break off and settle on the bottom of the container.
